We’re proud to have been innovating for the good of society for 150 years, working tirelessly to achieve our vision of “Imaging to the People”. Konica Minolta has identified five themes that will create added value and solve predicted social and environmental issues between now and 2030. As we look to the future, we’re guided by these five material issues. We spent some time with Lynn Chu, Enterprise Sales Manager at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Asia Pte. Ltd.. Lynn kindly took the time to speak to us about the future of Konica Minolta, and we discussed one of the five material issues that underpins our goals: improving fulfilment at work and corporate dynamism. She shared her thoughts on how we’re redefining the workplace while helping organisations adapt to change, overcome challenges and bring new ideas to life.
Lynn Chu: We are providing business solutions. It is just how you fit bits and pieces of our products and offering, customise it and package it into an end-to-end solution for customers. It is basically knowing customer requirement and beyond what they want, so that we can propose the right solution for them and set Konica Minolta apart from the competition.
Lynn Chu: Because the world is changing, we'll need to embrace new ideas or new products and services, new technology, in order to keep up with a changing world.
Lynn Chu: A very good example is the introduction of our end-to-end solution to Singapore's second largest hospital. We provide the hospital with the necessary IT support to ensure smooth day to day operation and this sums up the big solution that we have put in place to resolve today's challenges. So with our solution, the customer is now able to overachieve their KPI of 48 hours to less than 24 hours, and they don't feel burnout anymore. The doctors can now see more patients.
Lynn Chu: To the customer, a lot of processes were very manual back then, especially in the area of data capturing. With our solution, the turnaround time to retrieve patient’s medical records became faster and quicker and for the patient, the waiting time for doctors is greatly reduced. I believe this is a win, win, win situation for customer, patient and Konica Minolta Business Solutions Asia Pte. Ltd.
Lynn Chu: Improving customer experience and employee experience through digitalisation.
Lynn Chu: I think my job is more to advocate “Imaging to the People” rather than achieve it. To reach out to customers out there and get them to embark with Konica Minolta.
Lynn Chu: Future to me is both interesting and exciting. I am from the 1980s and I’ve been through evolution such as dial-up internet modem, Tamagotchi and Nokia phones to where we are today. I'm sure that there will be more interesting technology to come in the near future which I'm looking forward to experiencing.
Lynn Chu: The future workplace will be about AI, artificial intelligence. AI for automating processes for easier decision making. Being a solution provider company, I'm sure that Konica Minolta will have a lot of exciting solutions and technology to offer in years to come. And of course, I hope I can be part of it as well. It was incredibly insightful to have this conversation with Lynn, and it’s clear that she believes that potential opportunities for Konica Minolta in the future are huge, with AI taking centre stage. And in order to progress, we must keep continually evolving to meet the needs of a changing workplace.
